Are you wondering how to connect a baby monitor to the TV? The best part about having a baby monitor that can stream to a Television set, either regular or smart TV, is that you get the option of a much wider screen to keep an eye on your little one in the living room. If you own a WiFi monitor that syncs with an app, the 6.12-inch display of your iPhone 15 will seem minuscule compared to a TV screen that measures 30 inches or larger.

I find connecting my TV to be excellent, especially on weekends when I’m busy with household chores and can’t watch TV but still want to occasionally check on the baby. This is when I am not watching any TV. I don’t entirely like to continuously watch my little ones on TV, but it’s nice to keep an eye on them while they’re napping.

So, how do you go about connecting your baby monitor to the TV?

4 Ways to Connect and View Baby Monitor on TV

You have 4 options to connect your baby monitor to the TV.

Using AV Cable:

The first option is to use an AV cable, which is commonly used to connect devices such as DVD players, gaming consoles, and other electronic gadgets to a TV. To do this, you will need to check if your baby monitor has an AV output port. If it does, then simply connect one end of the AV cable to the baby monitor’s output port and the other end to the TV’s input port. Once connected, switch on both devices and select the AV channel on your TV, and you should see a live feed from your baby monitor.

I have come across baby monitors like the Motorola MBP35S that offer the capability to connect with ease. To connect the MBP35S, simply plug the AV cable into the AV OUT socket located on the side of the Parent Unit, and then connect the other end to the AV input on your TV.

Next, navigate through the options on the Parent Unit to select “TV”. On your TV, scroll through the AV inputs in the menu until you see the Baby monitor picture. Please keep in mind that the AV cable is not included when you purchase the MBP35S.

Using HDMI Cable:

The second option is to use an HDMI cable, which provides better video quality and is easier to set up compared to an AV cable. However, not all baby monitors come with an HDMI output port, so make sure to check your monitor’s specifications before purchasing.

If your baby monitor does have an HDMI output port, then all you need to do is plug one end of the HDMI cable into the monitor and the other end into your TV’s HDMI input port. Select the corresponding HDMI channel on your TV, and you should see a live feed from your baby monitor.

Using smart home integration:

Another convenient way to view your baby monitor’s feed on your TV is through smart home integration. Many modern baby monitors come with the option to connect to a smart home system, such as Amazon Alexa, Apple Homekit or Google Home. This allows you to use voice commands to display the live feed from your baby monitor on smart home display devices such as Nest Google Home Hub, Echo Show, or Apple TV. See all monitors compatible with Google Home here.

With monitors such as Ecobee, you can stream Homekit’s Secure Video(HSV) from your baby monitor directly to Apple TV, making it easy to keep an eye on your little one while watching TV or doing other tasks around the house. Similarly, with Google Home, you can use voice commands to stream the live feed from your compatible baby monitor onto a Google Chromecast connected to your TV.

Similarly, you can utilize monitors that work with Amazon’s Fire TV Stick, such as Arlo and Ring, to stream the live feed directly onto your TV screen using voice commands. This eliminates the need for additional devices or cables, making it a convenient and hassle-free option. Project Nursery Smart Monitor and EZVIZ Wireless Battery-Powered Video Baby Monitor are among my key recommendations if you want a baby monitors that work with Firestick.

Using a dedicated monitor app:

If you don’t have access to an HDMI cable or smart home integration, many baby monitors also offer a dedicated app that you can download onto your smartphone or tablet. These apps allow you to easily view the live feed from your baby monitor on any device with internet access, including your TV. mobile application that

All you need to do is open the app and select the option to cast the feed onto a bigger screen. This feature is especially useful if you have multiple people who want to keep an eye on the baby, as they can all connect to the app and view the feed simultaneously on their devices.

How to Connect Baby Monitor to TV Using AV Cables: Steps:

  1. Connect one end of the AV cable to the “Video Out” port on your baby monitor.
  2. Connect the other end of the AV cable to the corresponding “Video In” port on your TV.
  3. Make sure both devices are turned on and set to the correct input channel.
  4. Adjust any necessary settings on your TV, such as picture ratio or color settings, to optimize the display of the baby monitor feed.
  5. Once everything is set up, you should be able to see the live feed from your baby monitor on your TV screen.

Note: The exact process may vary depending on the type and model of your baby monitor and TV. It’s always recommended to consult the user manual for specific instructions.
